Sweat of our Brows: The African American Experience
September. 15, 2007

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

“By the Sweat of Our Brows: The African American Experience,” a living history program that chronicles the lives of Africans from their homeland to the site

of Historic Brattonsville and beyond, will take place on Saturday, September 15 from 10am-3pm at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road in

McConnells, South Carolina. Ongoing activities will take place throughout the day and center around five key themes: kinship bonds (extended family

practices), family, religion (the invisible church), work (house and field labor) and achievement. The event will include dancing, singing and other

performances. Foods and refreshments will be available for purchase.
